I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
While I was out on a week long vacation, there was some strong wind most of the time. Usually around 20 knots. I spent a lot of the time sailing down wind in these conditions and I encountered a problem with my rudder two times as a result of the pressures that I put on the rudder. My bolts that hold the bottom gludgeon on kept on coming loose and I lost two bolts this way. I think that I have a simple solution for this. I am going to replace both of the bolts and put lock washers and lock nuts on the bolts. Just wanted to let everyone know about this so that they can keep an eye out for this. Then again, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure....Replaceing the bolts, washers, and nuts will cost you less than $4.
