Rudder post repair

I have a 1980 Catalina 30.
The rudder shaft is worn and there's excessive play in rudder. I have been reading about Catalina Directs epoxy and rubber bushing repair kit for Catalina.

Does anyone know if this is the right way to fix this rudder. The boat is in Mexico and I'm in the Northwest,and will be heading down to fix the issue, soon. I want to make sure I get the right stuff before heading down. Has anyone done this before? How hard of a repair job is it? Thanks​

A friend of mine did this on his Catalina 42. It was a bit of work but the result was good..
