Top Clamp

Have the same problem with my 27 1984. Called Hunter Marine. Part is no longer on stock, but they will cut you one for $35.- I believe that any local machine shop can make you one for the same price or less. Afterall, it is a simple disk made of plastic. I have not replaced mine yet, since there is no current structural failure. Good Luck Hans.

Delrin Washer

Have the same problem and was told during the survey it is made out of Delrin Plastic. Not sure where to get one either, so glad you asked. Do you know how complicated it is to replace this once the part can be located? If that collar is removed will the rudder fall out of the bottom of the boat?

Delrins Questions

Delrin I was told by an experienced friend (who unfortunately doesn't own a Hunter!) that the steering quadrant will hold the rudder in place if you take that top bolt out. I will do that with much trepidation, if I can find a new collar. I haven't yet tried Hans suggestions, but maybe for $35 just have Hunter make one? And I still am not sure what the hell the thing does. Take care, Ron
