I was getting a considerable amount of water into the bilge of my First 375 and actually saw it running past the the shaft packing forward while the boat was motoring out of the marina. The water slowed when the motor wasn't running but continued nevertheless. Water from the back of the boat. If it's not the shaft it has to be the rudder, right? I assumed that the vibration of the motor on the rudder packing affected the flow rate. Wrong While inspecting the rudder gear for the second time I noticed daylight coming in from the port side aft area down in the hole. The exhaust line was split at the bottom, right at the thru hull point. a quick fix.
