Some years ago, I bought an IdaSailor rudder for my 22 because of the kick-up feature it provided. The improvement in handling was so great, I decided to make new rudder blades for my other two boats which already had kick-up rudders. I got a similar improvement in handling in both cases. I would hate to have to go back to the factory rudders in any of my boats. I think that building a new rudder is well worth the effort it takes.
