Rudder Lock??

Is it possible to install a rudder lock on a 79 Cat 30 thru the rudder shaft housing in the cockpit to keep the rudder from slapping back and forth when at anchor. I have wheel steering but securing the wheel does not do it, the rudder shaft needs to be secured someway.

Emergency Tiller

It's not elegant, but you could attach your emergency tiller and secure it so the rudder shaft doesn't move. I'm curious as to why securing the wheel doesn't work, I wouldn't think there should be that much play in the steering mechanism.
