Rudder head repair on oday 27 1983-1984

HiI everyone!
I foolishly left my tiller swinging in the waves and both the rudder head and tiller head cracked. Yes I'm new at this. Dose anyone have any ideas on how to go about fixing this? I used some marine epoxy for a temporary fix it the rudder head but it would be nice to have something than can handle rough water with confidence

You can get that welded. Take it to a fabricator, and it can be repaired. I had my mast base plate torn last season, and my local fabricator welded it just fine.

You might also check with DR Marine to see if Rudy has a replacement.

Do you know if I remove the rudder head Is there anything else that keeps the rudder In place? Or will it fall out?

I appears to be through-bolted in the picture. Look below, and if there are no other bolts or collars holding it, I think it would slide out if you remove that through-bolt. Don't wanna do that!

Maybe someone with knowledge of your vessel will answer this?
