Rudder for a Mac 26C

I've read suggestions on a number of MacGregor sites that the rudder of a Mac 26 should be modified to add 2 in. to the leading edge. Supposedly, this helps significantly with "rudder helm"My question is: Instead of modifying the rudder, is there a production rudder of another model which serves the same purpose?

I just acquired a '91 26C and the previous owner indicated MacGergor replaced the rudder when it was new with a heavier upgrade which improved the helm.Compared to a wheel, it still has weather helm!!
