Rudder down haul

Changing out my tiller on my 23.5 to wood laminate,any good ideas on rudder downhaul ,uphaul line.Hate cleat on tiller!Anyone do anything different.Anything would be better than factory.

Add a clamcleat release. It'll hold it in place but release if your navigation is somewhat erred
