rudder dimensions

I AM LOOKING FOR THE DIMENSIONS OF THE RUDDERS. I DONT SEEM TO HAVE THE CONTROL I THINK I SHOULD HAVE. I SAW A FEW PICTURES OF RUDDERS ON THIS SITE AND THEY DONT LOOK LIKE THE SHAPE I HAVE. THEY SEEM TO HAVE A SHAPE THAT HAS A SECTION THAT COMES FORWARD OF THE TRANSOM. COULD SOMEONE GIVE ME THE DEMINSIONS AND SHAPE.

I have an 02 and my rudders are 48" tall. Starting at the bottom they are 8" wide tapering up to 9" at 27" high, then down to what ever fits in the brackets. I didn't measure thickness, but about 1". Hope that helps and is time to do some good.

rudder aspect geometry

The part of the rudder that is forward of the transom is critical to make the steering easier for you and to reduce the load on the helm gears and rudder brackets. Don't eliminate it.
