Rudder Crack

My 2001 H-260 has developed a crack on the forward edge of the rudder (when in down position). It is about 12" long and is through the gel coat. It looks like there is a seam that is cracking open. I am concerned about water getting into the fiberglass and weakening the rudder. Has anyone else experienced this with your rudder? Being such a new boat, I am wondering if this is defective.VEGA

...to exercise your warranty and get it fixed or replaced. I'd prefer replacement, if I were you.

Call Hunter or the dealer and let them know about it....

Hunter is geat about their hull/blister warrenty

and I would bet they will respond favorably and timely about this problem. This doesn't sound like a repairable item, replacement is the only solution I would accept. This is one of the most important systems on your boat. Unless they would be willing to follow you in a tender with new parts after effecting a repair on the original the only course is new. Hunter are good people and I'm hoping they will come thru for you.Raysv Speedy

I had a rudder crack on my 2000 H-260.I handled the problem through my dealer and Hunter replaced the rudder.
