I've purchased a 1996 376. I cleaned the rub rail with standard West Marine rubrail cleaner. It looked good for a couple of days but has become orange in color and splotchy. Does anyone knoe a good product for cleaning rubrails or how to find and install new rails. Sailmates

I have a 1994 Hunter 29.5. I’ve found that acetone works great on my rub rails. It takes very smudge off. It has never change the color of the material. Mine are a light gray. Then I put a coat of wax on to seal it. EASY!

Speaking of rub rails, about 3 ft of the rub rail on our Hunter 34 got damaged when high water allowed the rail to get on top of the piling on the starboard side of our slip. Basically the vertical part of the rail (the part that does the rubbing when you get up against something) was broken off completely. I'm trying to figure out how to splice in a 3ft section of the entire rail or weld in the vertical portion while leaving the majority of the rail intact. Problem is I don't know where to get about 3 ft of matching rub rail to try either option. Any advice?
