Rubrail

Many years ago I ordered a new Bristol 29.9 with a rubrail, teak with stainless facing. Since I usually singlehand this has kept my hull spotless. I installed one also on my trailerable Bayfield 25. I'm now looking at purchasing a 310 for extended use in Flordia and I would like to install a similar rubrail, teak or wood, with a stainless facing, through bolted. Is this a doable project or would a liner prevent its installation? It seems that the rubrail that comes with the boat is really only made to cover the hull-deck joint. I thought it would be installed immediately or a couple inches below the existing hull-deck cap? What do you think?

John, I can't check my 310 immediately to give you an answer but I can tell you that not having any exposed wood that requires annual maintenance has been a pleasure! The 310, like most new designs, is relatively maintenance free but does lack the traditional warmth of wood. The question is sail or sand? It sounds like you've made up your mind from previous boats but hold off a few months after you get the boat and re-evaluate your decision.
