Rubrail woes

Hi Folks

My port rubrail was damaged when I bought the boat, now it has been severely damaged in the last storm. How does one replace the rubrails? Where would I get the rail material? The rubrail is some kind of rubber, white, about 2 in wide, and it appears so slide along the hull/deck interface. Here's a pic of the "original" damage:

It's a 1973 Crown 28 (similar to a Cal) so no, I can't contact the "dealer"

Any thoughts?

One option would be to replace all of the toe-railing. Jamestown Distributors, Defenders, and West Marine are likely sources for toe-rail material.

By all means price out the cost for replacement material/extrusions from the suppliers listed above. Once you've done that you might consider making your own replacement stock for the rub rail out of Azek or Trex 'plastic' lumber. If you are at all handy with a table saw and other power tools you should be able to fabricate a shape that will be functional on your boat.
I am considering doing something like this on my boat as it has strips of teak for both the rub and cap rails. It is more like a 'crack rail' if our boat hits anything.
