We have a Davidson hardshell dinghy from www.boothboats.com which has a black vinyl rub rail. Even a slight bump of the dinghy against sailboat leave a not-so-nice black mark. It is this product: http://www.boothboats.com/parts/

Ours has a white insert but I see in the photos on the site that they also use 3-braid nylon as in insert. I might try this but it still leaves the top of the rail ready to attack the hull.

I'm looking to replace it with something non-marking. I've looked at the Taco line of rub rail products but I'm coming up short. I'm not really crazy about wrapping it with line or something like that but might have to as a last resort.

Anyone know of a different product or manufacturer?

Interesting, that just might work. I'm out to the boat today so will have a look. Thanks for the link.
