rubber window moulding

I know the name and/or stock number of the rubber window moulding for
resealing the Vega portlights has been discussed here, but I cannot
find it with the search. I tried the American Vega Assn. site, but I
can't remember my I.D. /password to get to the tool locker.

It is available through auto glass businesses, as a special order.
Anybody know what to ask for? I have leaks, and it will be a wet
winter here in Puget Sound.

I can't help you with the port lights Doug, but I want to remind you of the

Doug: As a temporary fix, I found something called windshield leak repair, a
flowable silicon sealant. With that and a putty knife to pry back the
rubber, I've been able to eliminate all drips for two years now. For a
permanent fix I'm considering the aluminum ports that Steve Birch at the VAGB
sells, though they're a little expensive, and I need a new mainsail worse.
It is wet here in Portland as well. I think NAPA or G.I. Joe's has the
sealant here in the NW. Best luck, Bill Bach, V1071

I seem to remember that it's the same as used in older Volkswagens or Volvos. Worth checking into at a local auto glass shop before ordering from overseas.
