I want to replace the original narrow aluminum-with-rubber-insert-rail with a more substancial full length oak/teak rail about 2 to 3 inches high/wide. I go through a lot of locks.
Question: Has anyone experience re how easy that would be on my "Grampian 23"? (Or on any similar boat?) Main concern, is the existing aluminum pop-rivited or screw/bolt mounted? The latter would seem better to work with?? Would it be necessary to steam the wood, or would soaking be sufficient? All help appreciated... Roger
