Rub Rail

We have a Cat 310, hull # 23. In cleaning the rub rail my port side has, for lack of a better description, bubbled or blistered. The surface feels like a pebble textured surface, not so on the starboard side. The color and texture changes at the bow. I know my port side gets more sun exposure, but looking at other Catalina's, most are older, none exhibited this problem. Has anyone else seene anything like this. And for my best joke of theday, what do you think the chances are of Catalina replacing the rail for free?

Just Replace It

The rub rail on our C36 had become badly discolored over the years. Two years ago, we simply purchased a new insert from Catalina Parts. It was relatively cheap (I think around $90 for a 36). Installing it was a bit of a chore; we used a heat gun to soften it as we banged it into the channel with a rubber mallet. It ended up looking great.
