Just bought a '98 376 and the rub rail is dirty/oxidized and needs a good cleaning. Any suggestions and products that work well?

MaryKate Products work

I;ve had good luck with MaryKate Inflatable Boat Cleaner and a scotchbrite pad to clean them, then using a soak in coating of 303 to protect them from further staining. They clean up a lot easier, once you start using the 303.

Whitewall Tire Cleaner

Someone here on the "board" suggested "Bleche White" from an auto supply dealer. I tried it on my 320 and it worked great with a little stiff brushing. Ron Parkes s/v Contemplation

Simple Green

I've used undiluted Simple green and light scrubbing with a scrub brush. Makes 'em look like new. Congrats on your new boat!

CU = cleans up

Peggy of Marine Head fame has a product called "CU" for cleans up. I use that undeluted and it works well. Very little scrubbing. Wear gloves. It can be bought on this forum.

Rubrail cleaning

We used "Island Girl" to clean the rubrails. They now look new.
