During last Hurricane season my rub rail was broken. I have a 2 foot area that needs to be replaced. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this, where to get the supplies etc. My boat is a 87 hunter 23.

Does your H23 have a slotted toerail? If so, I parted out a H22 and took slotted toerails from both sides to repair my Hurricane Ivan damaged H22. I'll gladly sell some to recoup some of what I spent.

Mike, You say you parted out a H22. I would be interested in a boom if you have one.

Rub Rail

I have a 1985 h23 without the slotted toerail. I replaced my rubrail retainer, a plastic exstrusion, with material purchased from West Marine. The profile I chose looked like the original but was not listed as used by Hunter. I replaced all of the retainer so a slight differance in the profile was not an issue. It received the black rubber insert prefectly. The retainer is sold in 20 foot lengths but they can't ship more than 8 foot lengths so I had to pay motor freight for 60 feet. I used a heat gun to bend the extrusion around the bow and stern corners. Larry
