Rub rail making noise

I have a 2011 Hunter 50 AC. Next to one of the cleats on the port side, it appears the rub rail may have come lose? The reason I think this is that when up against the piling (with a bumper of course) as the boat gets pushed against the piling it makes a creaking noise as if maybe the screws (bolts? ) under the stainless insert may be lose? I am not sure how the rub rail is attached so only guess there are screws once I takeoff the stainless insert? Am I correct ? If so is there anything I need to know prior to tackling this job?

I have repaired my H430 rub rail. I understand my size boat.

Im not sure how much experience you have had so forgive me if Im telling you stuff you know. But the Rub rail is quite solid and I would imagein there would be significant visual signs if it did come lose or was damaged. Your description of the creaking noise is something I get quite a lot of and would love to be able to stop it (and mine is not the rub rail). However, in my case it's actually the lines as they go over the side of the boat down to the cleats on the pontoon and as the boat pull's on these lines they stretch and rub on the fiber glass making a progressive creaking type noise as the boat pulls, and then as the line ease's off the creaking noise plays again in reverse as the line goes slack. No doubt if I spent lots of time in a marina it would in fact ware the fiber glass I expect and I have seen the odd boats that have added a small stainless strip, primarily to save the boat I expect, but it would probably also stop the noise.
