I live on the South Shore of Long Island, anybody know why the ocean has been so rough this year. It seemed that last year the seas were 1-3 ft. most of the time, with higher wave heights when a storm was approaching. This year we have had 3-5 foot seas for weeks at a time. The winds have not been strong, just very high seas. What weather pattern is causing this?
