I am thinking about buying a MacGregor 26, but I am concerned with how this boat will handle/ride in fairly rough water. Can you really take it offshore?
Hi Jay, I sail out of a coastal harbor in NH. We have run through pretty rough water several times. With the water ballast full, the boat plods through swells with no problem and handles chop quite easily. Most of our sailing is off shore, and I feel very comfortable in the mac. Good luck.
