Lately I've noticed a squeaking sound when I stepped on to the floor of the main cabin of my 1977 O'Day 27. So this evening I started to fix it and much to my suprise found that the fiberglass cabin sole is screwed into wood stringers on either side of the bilge access opening. And the wood stringers are completely rotten away! So I don't have anything to screw the cabin floor down to. The sides of the bilge are made out of solid resin or ???? and I can't access where the wood used to be. And even if I could access the area what would I do?So my question is, is there anyone who has had this problem? Or knows how O'Day constructed this area of the boat. Or knows if the rosin(?) sides of the bilge be cut out so I can gain access? Or has any suggestions. All advise will be greatly appreciated, it's sailing season and the squeak is too loud to ingore Thanks,,,, Steve
