I want to replace the rope clutches on my 35.5 these are "Easylock" by an outfit in Demark (Danmark) called Sophus Berendsen any experience with this maker? Distributor? My concerns are direct replacement matching the bolt spacing, Just an eyeball with a tape looks like 4.5 inches Where as Lewmar in west marine specifies 4.2 Any experience with this ?

Read Archives!

Sorry people I wrote before I seached the archives Fred where did you get parts to rebuild? And is anyone sure about the aluminium plates on a 35.5?

Replaced ours with SpinLock

R: We replaced ours with SpinLocks. We used on the holes and redrilled the other (on each unit). Just fill the old holes with caulking to seal the hole and away you go.

And mine were rebuildable- just needed paint.

Whew! There are no parts except at rummage sales, that I know of.

Mr. D

Steve, am I correct to assume your replacement was on a 35.5? If so, cool sounds straight forward enough. Oh Fred, mine need more than paint..

Same clutch different boat.

R: I did mine on our H'31 but we had the same clutches. Never liked them when they were new. Rather poor quality, but gave to a friend so he could salvage parts.

Supplier in Canada

Holland Marine Products ( HMP) in Toronto had replacement parts, I had the same Easylocks on my SJ24 - which is why I am in the process of shopping for replacements for my H34. Too light weight for a boat this size I think. HMP is at www.hollandmarine.com
