Hey gang, I have a 1985 25.5 with the original rope clutches. I would like to replace them any recommendations for brands and models. Also the fiddle block on our main sheet has a cam cleat, but the cleat is not adjustable. At it's current angle it's hard for my wife to use. It's one of the few things on the boat she's asked me to change so she's getting it. I was thinking a Harken, but I am also looking for suggestions. Also I see a lot of them listed with a Beckett. What is a Beckett? I am also thinking of adding a cam cleat for my furling line. Could this just be secured to the fiberglass shell or would it need some sort of backing plate inside the boat? I am not sure if there is any real pressure on the furling line or not. Keep in mind we are fair weather, weekend sailors with no desires to race or anything like that. Thanks, Jeremy

For price give Garhauer consideration

Based on past experience Garhauer has had good prices on their rope clutches so what ever you look at you might also give them some consideration. Link: http://garhauermarine.com/catalog_process.cfm?cid=36 Can't recommend any model.

I could not agreee more.

You are hard pressed to purchase better grade equipment for the money than from Garhauer. They supply much of the OEM equipment for Catalina. I would suggest that you upgrade to their ball bearing blocks and organizers for a couple of buck more, but other than that they have great products for the money. (they have cut out the middleman).

Regarding the main sheet, I went with Harken
