LLM phone # and directions

Libery Landing marina's phone # is 201-985-8000 Ask for Debbie as she is making the reservations for slips. Let her know that you are here for the O'Day rOnDAYvous so she puts everyone on the same row. If no one answers the phone, leave a message, she will eventually get back to you. (It took a few days when i called) hope to see many of you there in a few weeks!!! Mike C. O'28 "Da Capo"

how it all began..

Seth, last year, a number of O'Day sailors who are on the Sailnet O'Day email list had a grand idea to get together for a "rOnDAYvous" That's all there was. We emailed people everyday and was a way to meet everyone in person and see all the O'Day sailboats. We had about 12 O'Day sailboats flock to City Island NY from upstate NY, NJ, Long Island sound Ct. shore it was a blast. So this year we are doing it again. And I hope that we do this in a different destination each summer. It is a wonderful way to get to know other sailors and other O'Day sailboats (especially if there are more than 2 of the same models and owners can compare) This year, we are looking at having close to 20 O'Day boats migrate to Liberty Landing NJ for more fun. Most of the boats sail there, but there are a few owners who live too far away who are driving (one is flying in) and some daysailors who live in NYC who are just stopping by for the evening fun. I would encourage you to put together one in your neck of the woods, as this is much fun!!! Hopefully, someday I'd like to see a national O'Day owners association with "rOnDAYvous" all over the country....

There's still time...

The clock is running, and for those of you who are traveling overland to the rOnDAYvous at Liberty Landing Marina, leaving your faithful sailboat in the care of a sitter, here's a hotel option to consider: http://jerseycity.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml It's the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson, and from what I can determine, it appears to be right next to (or very near) the marina. Just as important, both the accommodations and the rates seem very good. I have no stake in this place -- just happened to find it in a web search. At last count -- 16 boats, plus a handful of four-wheelers. There's still time (a little bit) to join the big party. See you there.
