So far, there's been a gratifying response regarding the 2007 rOnDAYvous. I've got more than 20 people on the event e-mail list, many of whom have said they're definitely coming, and some who say they'll try hard to make it. In addition, 8 captains say they've already reserved a spot at Milford Landing Marina (Coxe, Dodenhoff, Colucci, Hansen, Dietz, Lenoble, Johnston, Thayer). If your name is not among the foregoing, please let me know if (or when) you've reserved your slip, so I can update my planning files. We're well on our way to having a record turnout for the rOnDAYvous, beating the pants off the 11 boats that came to Captain's Cove in 2005. Let's not slack off now -- Milford is going to prove itself the best location and the best event we've had yet, but it's up to all of you to make it so. The marina is holding 15 slips available for the rOnDAYvous up until March 1 -- after that, it'll be hit-and-miss. So if you've been dilly-dallying, why wait any longer? C'mon along and join the party! It's gonna be great -- see you there! Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ

Pete..

I am trying to plan a Long Island circumnav from South shore of LI to North Shore and fitting the rOnDAYvous in my schedule. looking for info on Port Jefferson harbor where I can lay the boat up for a couple of days then it looks like a 4 hour sail across to Milford and afterwards I have a lead on a mooring around the Norwalk area. Put me on your Email list RADeSimone1@aol.com

Fantastic!

RAD, L.I. circumnav? Awesome! That's something on my to-do list, possibly this year if I can swing it. (I was toying with the idea of getting 3 good friends and making it a stag venture -- it would change the rules of the game somewhat from how thing would play out if it was me, my wife and teenage daughter.) I'll put you on the email list as soon as I get back to work on Tuesday. I hope you can work the rOnDAYvous into your cruising plans. (Maybe you should lock yourself in by contacting Milford Landing and reserving your spot, thus firming up the commitment. Just a thought.) Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ

RAD, are you planning on leaving the boat unattended or are you going to be on it??? If you are a member of a Yacht Club, I'd contact the Port Jefferson Yacht Club or the Seatauket Yacht Club. They both have been very helpful in the past. If you need a place to keep the boat for a few days. If you're going to be on the boat, aviod the Town Marina as they are expensive. I'd either anchor in the sand hole (NE corner of PJ harbor I think its also called Mt. Misery Cove??) or in entrance to Seatauket Harbor (NW corner behind the beach) hope to see you this summer Mike C. O'28 "Da Capo"

L.I. circumnav

I have to figure out a way to leave the boat at different ports cause my wife cannot take the time off of work, so I plan to leave the boat in Greenport,Port Jeff,Norwalk and I have a lot of place's to leave it near Hempstead harbor close to where my business is. I do belong to a sailing club and will have to look into the Yacht clubs and see if they will help out or direct me. RAD ~/)~

This thing just keeps getting bigger (and better)

I didn't want anyone to forget about the 2007 owners' rOnDAYvous just because this thread was about to fall off the bottom of the topic list. The big event keeps growing, but there's still plenty of room for more boats (and drive-ins, too)! Why not get over the mid-winter blues by making plans NOW for the rOnDAYvous, scheduled for July 13-15 at Milford Landing Marina in Milford, CT. Show off your good ol' boat, mingle with the friendliest bunch of owners around, and explore a new (and very friendly) port of call. Contact me, on- or off-list, to sign up, or get more info (including the full-color e-newsletter, "The rOnDAYvous Report." See you there. Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ
