Rocna DIY clone?

Has anyone else toyed with the idea of adding a "roll bar" to a claw, plow, or delta-diamond anchor to pick up the advantages of a Rocna?

It wouldn't help. These anchors are both good at rolling over into position to dig in (I've had both). While they don't grab and dig in quite the same manner, the roll bar is ONLY to prompt the initial roll-over and actually inhibits deep setting to some minor extent.

The actual digging and setting has to do with blade shape and weighting; addin the mass of a bar aft might make them far worse. I think so. They might not dig at all, as the weight would be the wrong place.

I've had good luck with my small Lewmar Claw. I toy with the idea of getting a so-called "next generation anchor" like Rocna, Manson Supreme, or Mantus.

From the research I've done, I'd probably get a Mantus - seems to work well for folks who've commented, and much less expensive than the others.

Certainly wouldn't modify an existing, relatively proven design, unless you've got extras to mess with, and you need a project to keep you off the streets :D
