I want to put roller furling on my 1979 Hunter 30. Does anyone have any suggestions on which brand and model to use. I'm a little concerned about it fitting under the bow pulpit. If anyone has installed furling on their 30 please let me know how you like it and which model it is

Furler

Practical Sailor rated these a while ago. Furlex was best but generally not available at discount supply outlets.(and they're pricey) Profurl was #2 and available with good There are other good ones out there. I'd avoid the Hood stuff, especially discounts (I just got mine from Sailnet.com) I have experience installing them and like their design. the continuous line system. Barry

There's a brand there you may not have heard of but they make a great -- and simpler -- unit. Spin-Tec doesn't use bearings and is less likely to wrap the halyard. Different than the others but it's worth a look. Very strong customer reviews.

Best guarantee and easiest installation too!

Dom: I have done a lot of looking around for a furler too. I came down to the Spin-tec as the best furler on the market and NO one even comes close on their guarantee. This is just another one of those products that you don't find in the big retailers/ catalogs stores and it is also the best of the breed!
