Roller Furling

Hi,

The other day we were trying to furl our giant genoa and found it to
be very stiff and the furling line got tangled on the reel. Does
anyone know how to fix this. Also when we reefed the genoa we were
pleasantly surprised that it had a good shape. I had always heard
that they reef too full.

Hi

You will find that in a blow with more than a few turns on teh furling the
shape is not as good. This is normal as the furling genoa is a compromise. I
use one all the time as they save so much time and effort.

Do you think it might just be a better idea to switch back to regular
hank on sails than to mess with our very stiff roller furling. Or
should I try to fix the sysytem by getting a bigger drum and putting
on some WD-40.
