The rotating drum on my old "Flexible Furler" (it doesn't look like a CDI but it might be) will not stay seated in the aluminum cup. Most furlers I think have a "luff support pin" to keep the drum from riding up the plastic strip/forestay when the jib is unrolled doing its business. My drum rides up the luff and the bolt rope in the jib actually rides down out of the groove in the plastic strip. The internal halyard rides in a groove on the opposite side of this plastic strip and is attatched to the furling drum.
My question is how the heck do I keep the drum seated in the aluminum can. Tension on the furling line doesn't do the job at all. There is a place at the top of the drum(picture) that looks like it would hold a pin, but there is no hole through the plastic luff strip. I considered drilling a hole there(hopefully I wouldnt damage the forestay which runs inside this strip), but Im hopeing there is an easy answer to this. Any advice is appreciated.
