I recently purchased an 88 O'Day 302 with an original ProFurl roller furling. I replaced the line and the roller furling works very poorly - the line seems to jam on the drum no matter how carefully we release the jib. The line either loops its way out of the prongs that surround the open drum or, more recently (after being more carefull in releasing the jib and keeping good, constant pressure on the roller furling line) the line seems to wedge itself against itself when wrapping around the drum. It certainly defeats the purpose of roller furling if you have to go to the front of the boat and hand turn the mechanism to get the jib furled!Would going to larger line help? Will anything help? Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance for your help.
