Does anyone have a suggested source for roller furling on a 28.5 for a do it yourself type at a resonable cost?

Furling system 28.5

We purchased a 28.5 ('85) in 1994 equipped with a Harken system. It has been trouble-free for 10+ years as equipped. No snags, easily handled, and easy to service as well as re-fit. It has required minimal maintenance, and continues to serve well. We sail year-round, cold included, and the system is set with a 150% genoa. I don't have the model # at fingertips, but will be glad to provide with time.....Cappy

Famet

I have one of these on my 28.5 and know of two others with the Famet. This is a very strong system which does not require altering the headstay, minimal upkeep since no bearings and open furling mechanism. I think pricewise it is more than competitive. The link is below. Website needs updating but check out Practical Sailor review. Usual disclaimer about no connection with company etc.

H28.5 furling

Ijust purchased a 1986 Hunter 28.5. As it happens, I also sail out of Deale, Md (Herringto North). That is, until Isabel nearly destroyed the place (and my last boat). Anyway, the H28.5 that I just bought has a Hood 810 Seafurl single line furler on it. While it works ok, I don't think this furler would be useful for anything larger than a 110 genoa. If I replace it, it will probably be with a a CDI unit (which can be owner installed).
