I am looking at buying a 1986 Hunter 34 - the boat does not have a roller furling Genoa. Can anyone tell me where I could find the equipment and approx what the cost might be? Thanks, Steve.

CDI Products

I have had excellent recent service from the following: Tom Livingston CDI 44 james Street Homer, NY 13077-1224 sailcdi@verison.net Phone (607)749-4599 I recently purchased replacement parts for my roller furling from CDI. From conversation with Tom I know he has complete systems. My boat Is a 1983 37 Cutter but I believe the later 34's with Roller furling had a simular system. I think Tom Livingston is a good source of addational information. As I recall Tom has special pricing for INTERNET orders. I woulld guess a complete CDI unit will be about $1200 or less Good luck Bob Barr

H34 Furler

Practical Sailor did a review and Furlex was on top. Since I was unable to buy Furlex at a discount below list price I went with #2 which was Profurl. Try Sailnet or Defender for a good price. I removed the original CDI unit which worked for 18 years but was a poor design and sold it on ebay instead of adding it to the marina dumpster. It had no bearing or bushings just some grease around a thin plastic drum which I have seen crack under load. They sell one on this wen site that sounds good but I have no first hand knowledge of it's performance.

Steve,

These boats didn't come stock with roller furling. As such, it's your call. I have Harken because I like the foil. Pro furl would have been my choice but the round foil didn't appeal to me. Key words 'you' and 'me'. Hey, it's rigging, IE; personal. Have fun shopping.
