Roller Furling for Winter

How do you folks store your forestay witht he roller furling assembly. I use my mast as a ridge pole and drape the tarps over it. The roller furling is going to stick well past the end of the mast and not sure what to do with it. Should I take it off? Should I gently bend it down and secure it to the trailer? Your suggenstions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott "On Eagles Wings"

Joe I have received much help from the folks here on the forum. It has cropped the learing curve tremendously. Just finished our third season and much still to learn. And yes winter I spend a lot of time working on the boat or things for the boat with my sons and that is priceless. Chuck I trailer mine also with a board bungee corded to the mast and furler. I have read here on the fourm of the use of a larger diameter pvc pipe cut in half. I like that idea the most because both the mast and the furler are nessteled into the half section of pipe. I have not made mine yet but do plan to do so over the winter. I did not want the furler sticking out past the mast under the tarps over winter becuase I just visioned a tree limb coming down in an ice storm and you know it would just perfectly hit the furler or something awfull like that.
