Roller Furling for a Cat-30

I am thinking of adding roller furling to my 1975 Cat-30. Has anyone any tips on DOs or DON'Ts with regard to both hardware model and about having a sail re-cut?

Sorry Les to do this to you, but my wife and I are looking at buying a 1979 Catalina 30. Would you be so kind as to tell me about your experiences with you boat that's about the same vintage.Our concerns are the boat's ability to point to windward and if the hull and topsides have held up well with age or cracked and blistered ?Thanks again. Roller furling

I have a catalina 27 and just recently had a CDI Flexible furling system installed. It was less installed than the other major systems. Draw back is it only has a single sail guide. If you are just crusing and don't plan on racing seriously, I would say it would be fine. I found them on the internet by doing a search for CDI Furling and then found a distributor. Hope it works mine is great.
