Is it feasible to install a roller furling and keep the original head stay for use with existing light air sails. I have 2 mylar sails that work great in light air, but i am afraid they would be to light to use with a roller system. My idea was to use the standard jib on the roller, and clip the others on the headstay as wind conditions permitted. Any suggestions.

CDI

CDI or Cruising Design is a good one to use. That is what I used on those boats years ago. You will have to modify the sail for a #6 luff tape, remove the hanks and specify what color the cover should be. You will need to specify if you will furl to port or starboard to determine which side the cover will go on. Crazy Dave Condon

CDI - Fiberglass Clearance

Jim - be forewarned that if you install a CDI furler in the anchor locker,(below deck) the fit is VERY tight and you may need to remove some of the fiberglass "lip" that rolls into the locker. Could get very tight if you intend to keep the standard forestay.

Shamew on me

I goofed and forgot to remember about that hole attachement in the anchor locker. If that is the case you may want to install any furling just above the hole with the use of tangs. It has been a while since I was on one. Sorry. Crazy Dave Condon
