Hello, My old CDI furler is starting to fall apart. I have all winter to save up for a new one. Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't race and barely know how to sail. Thanks! Tim Pinkham ~June E II~

CDI furler replacement

Try CDI's new furler . It's foolproof, easy to install, can't abuse it when you take the mast down, you never have a halyard foulup and they stand by their warranty. I switched from the old CDI to the new one.

Refurbish the old CDI

I have about a ten year old CDI Furler (FF2). They were really great about selling me replacement and upgrade parts to refurbish the furler. I would take that approach rather than buy a new one. They can send you the price list for parts, and you can order just what you need. George

CDI is a great bet

but you may be just as well off with a Schaefer. The CDI is a little difficult to deal with when changing the halyard tension (since the CDI furler has an internal halyard). You don't have to do that often if just cruising though. I have a CDI and love it (Just got it this year). Good luck.
