Roller Furler

I have a 1994 vintage Harken roller furler. It furles in the Genoa nice and
smooth. When unfurling it seems to hit a "flat" spot ever revolution and
you have to really pull on the sheet to over ride it. Any ideas what could
be causing the issue.

Headstay tension?

If the headstay is too loose, it could cause the problem you describe.

I also had a problem once with the jib halyard being too tight, which also produced similar symptoms.
