After raisiing my mast, the roller furling jib seems to short to re connect. Has anyone had this problem? What am I doing wrong?

What make is your roller furler, CDI? If so, you'll need to get at the turn buckle by pulling the pin that holds the long plastic luff to the furler's drum assembly. Then slide the drum up to expose the turnbuckle. You may need to remove some washers from the bolt. At any rate, you'll need to loosen the turnbuckle to get the rigging pin connected to your bow plate. When you raised your mast did you check all the mast fittings for your stays? If you have T ball fittings, they have been known to get crooked in the slot plates. Anything that is twisted in your rigging can cause you to come up short on your fore stay. You don't mention what kind of boat you have or the make of your mast.
On my boat, I have a Z-Spar mast with internal halyards and I can throw slack into my fore stay by loosening a lever on my Handy-Lock which is built into my back stay. I never need to loosen my side stays to do this. After I get my CDI connected to my bow plate via a push button Quick Pin, I can tighten the whole rig with my Handy-Lock. If you've had this mast up previously and was able to connect your furler, there has to be a logical reason why it won't fit now and it might be so obvious that you haven't seen it yet.
