For those who want to paint their boat. This is a photo of my boom that I just finished applying the first coat of Perfection by rolling and tipping. I have spent weeks stripping and prepping my spars including 3 coats of primer wet sanded in between. That is a reflection of my back yard(through a window) in the photo. There are absolutely no brush marks. In fact I think it looks better than a sprayed job where you tend to get orange peel. The secret is to properly prep the suface, follow the instructions to a tee and thin the paint just right. I used a pane of glass to get the paint thin enough that it would flow out but not so thin that it would run.BTW, this is only my second time rolling and tipping paint. My boat babe rolled while I tipped.Tim R.
