When I was growing up we would often travel down the West Side Highway in Manhattan and I loved to see the ocean liners at the Hudson River piers. I remember once seeing the ship (I guess it was the Michaelangelo) after it had encountered a rogue wave. At first glance it was not extremely damaged, but you could see steel railings at the level of the bridge which had been bent like noodles, and windows banged in. The amazing thing was the height of the damage, like looking up at the top of a 10 story building. I can't imagine what would happen to my 10 meters of fiberglass, but if I were on it, I wouldn't be around to see the damage.
