What is necessary to add a rigid boomvang on a new 240? My motto is "keep it simple" primarily since the captain(me)has no mechanical ability and must hire others to do the simplist tasks. My Dad who is a bricklayer and the opposite of me, told me early in life to go to college since I would not make it in the construction trades. He was right and I am now a CEO of a multi-million $$ business which is well-suited for someone with limited skill. What brands of rigid boomvangs should I be looking at? Thanks in advance...

garhauer vang

Gary, I've heard lots of good things on this sight about the Garhauer Rigid Boom Vang. I'm hoping to install one in the spring. How did pulling the boat out go over the weekend? Cold and miserable up here in Indy.

It went well, I adjusted my pull out day to Saurday rather than Sunday to avoid the chance of rain. It turned out to be a great decision. The advice here helped me tremedously and I got it on the trailer perfectly the first attempt. Thanks for asking. I still think you need to come visit us at Hoosier Hills Marina on Patoka Lake, truly a beautiful lake which is underutilized to our benefit. Hoosier Hills has a website and provide temporary slips. Jeff Dukes is the owner and a really helpful guy..Have a good winter...

Next summer

Gary, I'll definitely try to get down there next summer. We've pulled the boat down to Lake Monroe the past two summers over labor day. That lake is just too busy with power boats to be much fun.
