I'm a new O'day owner (of an older 20 footer) I'm also a novice fresh-water sailor and I have three questions. I haven't had any instruction on how to rig my boat is there a manual/bookb I can get. Also, is there a good how to book for repairs and up-keep and finally,the model boat I have has a small kitchen area (sink,stove)I don't see where I'll need this and would like to pull it out ... will I create more problems for myself in trying to take these small particions out? Appreciate any and all help. Ron

oday 20 manuals

Ron,I've been looking around on the web for a manual or other such things for awhile, and with little luck. For a time there was an O'day 22 manual on http://home.att.net/~oday/index.htm. But I think it's gone now.I have a 1974 model 20 so maybe we can just compare notes on the rigging.Don't know about taking out the stove/sink area. Does yours have a bulk head between the stove and v-berth? If so, I'd think the stove/sink console has little structural value...Have fun!

Elliot ... thanks for your response ... yes I have the V-birth area and your no-doubt right that taking the sink,etc. out won't affect anything. I'm pretty new to this size boat that I ask some pretty simple questions. In regard to the rigging ... I'll get back to you on that. Thanks again ... Ron

ODay 20 Manuals

Ron and Elliot:Send me your e-mail addresses and I'll send you a 9.6 meg zip file that has the info you are looking for. These are jpeg scanned copies of the original rigging instructions for an ODay 20 and a copy of a copy of an illustration of the rigging. Print them out on a decent quality printer and you'll have a usable brochure.I don't monitor this forum that often, but if you have any questions feel free to email me at denlorowe@aol.com.vr denny
