I need someone to have a look at my rigging, probably replace the uppers this year, and to figure out what's wrong with the spinnaker halyard and fix it. Anybody know a rigger in the Vancouver area, preferably around Granville Island?

or even: what do I look up in the Yellow Pages? What do you call these guys?

try Ocean Rigging

They're mobile - did a nice job on my lifelines a few years back and gave me a hand with re-riveting mast track.

Well, I won a FREE rigging inspection from OceanRigging at a draw in a race in May. First, he NEVER returned my phone calls. He finally returned my emails and said he was too busy. After a month of hounding, he finally agreed to have a look.

I'm SURE he never even went up the mast. A asked him to look and repair the spinnaker block. He said I shouldn't be using the jib halyard, which I wasn't. Then he said the halyard was off the block due to side loads, but I'm pretty sure it's not. At any rate, he didn't fix it.

And the closest thing he came to the "written report and consultation" was a few lines in his email that basically said I should replace EVERYTHING. Not really a report...

So, I'm looking for someone ELSE to do the work.

And the closest thing he came to the "written report and consultation" was a few lines in his email that basically said I should replace EVERYTHING. Not really a report......that was the closing tool in the selling game my friend and i might add a very weak closing one at that if he had really been a good high pressure salesman he would have stressed the danger and used scare tacticts on you ....he was not very good at the selling game IMHO..and you are better off that he didnt make a sale with you based on his sales ability....

So, I'm looking for someone ELSE to do the work.
