Recently my son accidently pulled the mainsail rope out of the mast, I have know idea how to fix it. I doubt his suggestion of tying it around my miniture dacshund neck and sending him down the inside of the mast will work, can someone help me!

Fish Tape

It's been my good fortune not to have had to do this....yet. I suggest you start by taking the mast down since it's so easy with this boat. At most any hardware store you'll find a device called a "Fish Tape" in the electrical section. It's a flat wire (1/8 wide x 1/16 tk) all coiled up in a plastic case. Something like the larger measuring tapes. Feed the tape thru the halyard exit hole up toward the mast head. Probably would help if the first mate was assisting at one end. The nice thing about this tape is it can be worked around a bit. Be careful of the wiring inside though. I've also heard of using a small chain and string form the mast head down. With the mast at an angle and your halyard exit hole facing down the weight of the chain should slide toward it. Some fishing with a wire thru the exit hole may help. Good Luck "Festivity"
