Rigging Component Designation Help?

Anyone know what this refers to?

MH 7854-101616

I know it's a rigging turnbuckle, but I'm coming up blank on the "MH" part, which I believe probably refers to a manufacturer, and the number, which I presume is a part number.

No luck on google so far.

Searching for 7854 it looks like mh may be "Merriman Holbrook"

Oh, good one, thank you! I'll try pulling that thread. It's not super critical, I'm probably not going to replace the turnbuckle bodies when I do the standing rigging, but I want to create some good documentation from the scraps I have from Tartan.

I was hoping to get a spec or drawing for each of the turnbuckles on my rig, which are all MH 7854, with dash numbers of -101616, -081216, and -071212. I wanted this so I could calculate the correct stud thread, and the length based on 1/2" of thread showing inside the t'buckle body; the rig is currently spec'd pin to pin.

I guess I'll just have to measure it on the boat, unless I can find a catalog. Thought I had, but no luck.

Looking up "turnbuckle" with the additional numbers gave me this link on the rigrite site which appears to give the conversion for your turnbuckles.

101616 gives 5/16 wire size with 1/2" thread and pin size. 7854 looks like it might be series info.

I looked at that last one again, and it is the page for the Navtec series 500 turnbuckles, which are a unique design, something I hadn't seen before. The ones I have are conventional, open-body turnbuckles. True, the part number suffixes are the same, in some cases, as my documentation indicates, but it could just be that Navtec adopted the Merriman number system in some way; but I can't be sure.

What I wanted to do was determine what turnbuckle stud thread I had in all cases, and then calculate the wire component length from top terminal to end of stud, by reference to the turnbuckle drawing, at the point where there's 1/2" of stud thread showing in the turnbuckle body (based on another reference on the Tartan drawings).

The best thing will be to examine the existing rigging to see if the lengths all appear correct, and just have the supplier copy them.
