Do you need running or standing rigging help? What help are you looking for?

The '87 model would be a Legend 35. The Legend 35.5 did not start production till '89. The rigging for both are the same however.

That's fantastic - would you have photos of the vang, furler and main rigged so could follow along by chance? Sorry to be such a pain

There are rigging differences between the 35 and 35.5 Based the the diagrams supplied.
The 35:
doesn't have the sheaves in the boom for the reefing line.
has both the main and fore halyard coming out of the base of the mast on the starboard side. The spinnaker halyard come out on the port side.
has the furling line enter the deck on the port side not the starboard side aft of the anchor well.

HL 35 AND HL 35.5 o(355 FORSOME)

Mr Jackson, as pointed out by David on Spin Wing there are indeed major differences between the HL35 and HL 35.5 or the Hunter 355:)naughty:).

For one the upper shrouds on the HL 35.5 are 9/32SS while on my HL35 they are of 5/16SS.
If there are other HL35 sailors on this thread please check and see if you have 5/16SS uppers.
My intermediate shrouds are 1/4SS (8/32) as opposed to the 7/32SS on the HL 35.5
I would like to go to a 9/32SS upper on my HL 35 if I knew for sure that the mast cross section on the HL 35.5 was the same as the HL35.

The internal rigging for the HL 35 boom is a bit different that the drawings provided by the HL35.5 sailor.

One needs to be carefully about the comparison.

The HL 35 is a great boat. I love the walk through stern and the much extra cabin storage below deck.

The hulls of both boats are the same except the HL 35.5 has a later top deck cap that gives it a much wider look inside the main cabin - except for the missing storage behind the seat backs.
Rigging a fractional rig HL 35 is about the same as the HL 35.5 except as to the length of the head stay.

Enough for now.
Would appreciate other HL 35 owners jumping in here
