We hauled our 1995 Legend 35.5 for bottom paint and some maintenance in late July, for the summer storm season. It was on the hard, on stands, with hurricane straps at a marina in Port Charlotte, FL, near our home. The boat was stripped and ground strapped, and we thought we were in pretty good shape; however, this storm was quite severe. The boat next to ours fell onto ours, and it appears that their mast was came down on our backstay, and collapsed our rig, snapping the mast. Our boat remained upright on the stands. We made out better than most.
I'm meeting the insurance adjuster on Monday. This boat was in pristine condition, inside and out. We hope that the adjuster won't total it, and and it can be re-rigged. I'd like to get a good idea of the replacement cost for spars, standing rigging and roller furling. I've looked at the cost to replace the Profurl, the standing rigging, and left a message at Selden about the mast/boom/gooseneck. Does anyone have any idea of what a replacement mast/spars would cost for this boat? Thanks in advance for any info- I appreciate the help.
